What Do You Have To Go Through To See God Glorified? – Pastor John Hannah Day 5 Morning Session 2

Pastor John Hannah

Pastor John Hannah started his session with a recap from yesterday’s message; reaffirming again that when the enemy comes, we are to confront him with the word of God spoken. He said oil and flesh don’t mix, the more anointed one is, the more of God we should see. He admonished that we must come to a place in our lives where we gladly and boldly declare that all that we have is of God and we must allow ourselves to carry the glory of God.

Beginning with the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis, he opened to the congregation the intention of God with us His people in Malachi 3 verse 3, “And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.” He gave the example of Joseph in the scriptures with an analogy that left the congregation desiring more of God.

Joseph, he said was all of himself until the refiner had to make him go through some things. “Like Joseph, you will be hated by even your family and friends.” You have been stripped of your robes but all of the things you have gone through that was meant to kill you, didn’t because God alone didn’t let it happen so! For those who have been verbally abused, sexually abused; ensure that all that you ever went through is raised in true worship to God. “Your worship, he said must always reflect your journey.

He went further to say that the anointing you carry will always attract! He gave the example of Joseph and Potiphar’s wife who was so attracted to his anointing she pursued him, Genesis 39:7. He advised that when the enemy comes for you, note it’s the anointing he wants, not you. For what God promised you is bigger than what you want or can see. What God has for you is beyond you, never about self but others.

He charged every one of us to always give God the glory, no matter what we have been through in life; slavery, abuse, whatever. You get pulled out if you refuse to give praise at such critical points! This happened because you began to curse rather than praise God! Worship God for the fact that you have been hated. For just around you is an opportunity to bring you out of confinement. Your obedience precedes God’s announcement of you through the angels that you have arrived and that your territory is enlarged.

He charged everyone to know that it is never about self, never has been and never will be. He pointed out from the story of Joseph that Joseph remained confined until he came to the realization that it wasn’t about him and stopped focusing on himself. When Joseph realized everything he went through was to be who God ordained him to be because of others, he was lifted up.

Therefore, it would take presenting our bodies as living sacrifices to God with a cry to him; “use me, kill my ego and use me oh Lord.” He crowned his session with worship, calling out to everyone to drop self.
