WAFBEC (DAY 6) EVENING SESSION 2 with BISHOP KEITH BUTLER

The topic for this evening’s second session was ACTIVATING THE GRACE OF GOD by Bishop Keith Butler.

He started by reading 2 Tim. 2:1 and Heb 4:16. Below were the seven important characteristics of grace which he mentioned.

  1. Grace is a gift Ephesians 2:8
  2. Grace also means Favour Gen. 6:8
  3. Grace is the anointing Ephesians 3:7-8
  4. Grace means Power Acts 4:33
  5. God’s word is called the word of grace in Acts 20:32
  6. God’s grace can be bestowed upon someone 2 Cor 8:1
  7. The holy spirit is the spirit of grace Heb.10:29

He further explained that for anyone to manifest the grace of God, it requires strict obedience to the Lord’s instructions. John 14:21

According to him, “To ‘manifest’ means to ‘inform’, and God manifesting himself to man means God informing him about all he needs to know for life, including secrets no one else knows. God has all the information that man needs. He knows how best to direct man. All man needs to do is to obey the Lord’s lead totally”.

He spoke on the need to always follow God’s instructions and revelation in every area of life, including marriage, if not, there would be frustrated.

Reading from Romans 5:17 he taught on the importance of laying hold on God’s grace. “Laying hold on anything means seizing it by force. A victorious Christian is one who lays hold upon the promises of God”, he added.

Romans 1: 5; Acts 16:17-18; Romans 10:1; Phil. 3:4-5, Acts 22:2-3

He used the above scriptures to explain that Paul, before he became a believer, had plans to work for the Jewish nation, but God changed it, and sent him to work among the Gentiles.

He used the life of Paul to show that God’s grace follows the obedience, and outside the obedience to God’s directions, grace does not cover that.

This passage suggests that God’s grace has the capacity to be multiplied. Grace gets multiplied to the believer as our revelation knowledge of God grows. 2 Peter 1:1-7

“Grace is powerful”’ said Bishop Keith. “It is grace that makes a believer a new creation. It is the power of grace that heals our body, renews our mind, through the power of the holy ghost. It helps us in a time of need – Heb 4:16”.

He encourage everyone to confess this regularly, “I am strong in grace, no matter what the devil may try to bring my way. I am strong in my body. I am strong in my mind. I am strong in my spirit. Praise God”.

That night, the Bishop left us with a better understanding of how the grace of God manifests, and brings results in the life of a christian. You can download the message here WAFBEC DAY 6 EVENING SESSION 2
