WAFBEC 2019 Day 7 Morning Session 1 with Dr Bill Winston

Dr. Bill Winston continued his teaching on faith. His title this morning was “The Faith that takes part”.

So, what faith did he teach on? The unstoppable spiritual force, and according to him, “The devil always tries to steal this seed of faith when it is sown into the heart”.

He talked about the state of a man’s heart when faith is sown. “Faith is an inner man issue. There’s nothing wrong with the seed because it’s incorruptible. It’s the kind of heart that won’t let faith work – heart filled with bitterness, unforgiveness, shame, feeling of condemnation etc”.

I Pet 3:3-4, 2 Cor 4:16,Mark 4:15, Prov 18:14

CONDEMNATION

“God doesn’t condemn you, he convict you. Condemnation gets faith out while conviction gets faith in”. He said this using II Pet 1:1, Rom 8:1 as reference.

UNRIGHTEOUSNESS

“You cannot get God to do something for you when you are walking in unrighteousness is within”. I Pet 3:12, Ps 34:19

He went on to explain what it means to ‘Believe’. He read Mark 11:12 – 14, 19 – 24. He taught that Believe is unqualified committal. If anybody is any situation, what they believe will be their outcome. Matt 12:33-34

“If you’re put under pressure by life, by the devil, what comes out is what is in you. That is what you believe”, he added.

He told the story of the three Hebrew boys in Dan 3:16 – 18. They had some pressure on them, and guess what? They didn’t believe that the fire will consume them, and that’s exactly what they happened.

“Therefore, what you believe will provoke a performance. If you believe God and trust in Him, no matter the situation you find yourself in, God will get you out”, he explained further.

He also asked a simple yet important question, which is, “How do you believe”?

You believe after getting a revelation. “Revelation brings restoration. When you get a revelation, you see. What is revealed to you becomes real to you. Revelation makes you a revolutionary”.

He buttressed his point using the story of Blind Bartimaeus who was blind but he could see at a higher level that healing belongs to him. He believed and it provoked the virtue for performance in his life. Mark 10:46 – 52

He gave a deepening contrast between Faith (now) and Hope (later).

He said, “It is the faith that takes, not the faith that waits. Jesus taught dominion over time. Faith breaks the law of time, space or matter. Until we understand that faith breaks the law of time, then we will try to work our faith through time. Jesus always defy the law. He understood that time is to be our servant not our master”.

He closed by admonishing the people. “Whatever you need for your assignment, whatever is good and beneficial for your life, God has already given it to you. Faith is the title deed and you have the faith that takes. Whatever we need for this cause, we call it forth. God delights in the prosperity of his people – Ps 82:1 – 8, Ps 35:27
