Still on Day 5, Pastor Keion Henderson graced the first evening session.
He taught on the Power of Praise, and what this can accomplish in the life of a believer.
His first scripture was 2 Kings 19: 14. According to him, “The word ‘Heart’ is not talking about our emotional part, but the mind, the intellectual part. We believe with our intellect not with our emotions. It is difficult to say what I don’t think. What God is saying is your life will go with the direction of your mouth.
He further explained what was going on in the passage shared. One man was telling King Hezekiah he would lose the battle and die and another man saying he will overcome and win.
The King of Judah was hearing two things; a good and bad report at same time.
While sharing from the scripture above, Pastor Keion said that God follows a particular pattern. “What you see in the natural always contradict the plans you have. He expects you to believe what he has promised you and not what your circumstances is showing you”.
Then he explained that the meaning of the name, ‘Judah’ is ‘Praise’. “If you will learn to praise God, the devil can never defeat you no matter how bad the situation is. Praise can open doors for you. So the first thing you do when you hear a bad news, is just shout and praise HIm. Scream with joy because praise confuses the devil”.
Still teaching on the power of praise, he said that it puts a barrier between you and the devil. “When the devil threatens, just keep praising God, till you see the salvation God has promised you and your family,” he added
“The more you praise God the more difficult it is for the devil to get into your life”. Hmmmm!
While he closed his session, he said, “Praise is never enough. Paul said to Rejoice in the lord and always rejoice. Every time you rejoice and shout, sickness is leaving your body, poverty is being erased”, he exclaimed.
He closed by leading the congregation in a radical praise session. He encouraged everyone to continue rejoicing in the lord.
