WAFBEC 2019 (Day 4) Evening Session 1 With Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo

The second session was graced by Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, the Senior Pastor, Kingsway International Christian Center ( KICC).

The minister of God spoke a bit on Creativity. He said that the next move of God is in Africa, and we believers have to be creative in order to be productive.

Fruitfulness means to ‘flourish’ in your enterprise, not just the bearing of children. “The biggest fruitfulness is the production of a brain child. Everything around you, is someone’s creativity, someone’s brain child”, exclaimed Pastor Matthew.

His first scripture was taken from the book of Gen 1.1. He explained saying God created the heavens and the earth. “The trinity God created a universe of 200M billion of stars, galaxies, and many other things mankind hasn’t discovered. And he put his creative capacity into his creation. When God created man he moulded us and breath his life, so how we are is how God is. Creativity was in man was from day one, because our father is the creator of creativity. God took his creative capacity and put it in man”, he added.

He quoted a scripture from Proverbs 25 vs 2, saying that it is the glory of man to search out the potential on earth and create it.

According to him, “Creativity was how God intended for man to find his wealth, future, breakthroughs”. “The challenge of Africa is that we are consumers instead of being productive people” he further explained.

From the Exodus 30: 34 – 35, he shared the 7 characteristic of creative people.

  1. Curiosity; For example, Moses was curious to see why the fire wasn’t consuming the bush.
  2. Flexibility; People who are creative try new approaches, see new possibilities.
  3. Sensitivity; Creative people see only opportunities in the midst of challenges.
  4. Originality; It’s important we note that are original ideas yet to be discovered and people will pay you for a wholesome amount for it.
  5. Independence; When you do things different from everyone else, being independent with ideas, people will suspect but keep going and express your creativity.
  6. Redefinition; To be creative, our minds, skill, ideas, the way we see things has to be redefined.
  7. Penetration; Creative people spend time to think. They get so deep and analytical when coming up with solutions or answers to world’s problems.

He went ahead to share the following principles;

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo closed by taking a prayer point from Job 37: 7. He prayed, prophesied and blessed the hands of every member of the congregation.
