WAFBEC 2019 (Day 4) Afternoon Session 1 with Pastor Poju Oyemade

The host, Pastor Poju Oyemade, ministered during the first afternoon session on Day 4.

Reading from Mark 6:45-51 and Matthew 14:23, he highlighted that being alone with God is the secret of the Quantum Leap.

He said, “This year, God wants everyone to make a Quantum Leap, and it will require leaving your comfort zone to enter into something new.”

He termed the Quantum Leap an Explosive jump or Exponential increase. One of the definitions he gave was that, it is an experience in the life of a person where a burst of spiritual energy jolts him/her to start doing something beyond human explanation.”

Citing, Joseph and David as examples, Pastor Poju described their promotion as a Quantum Leap, adding that every single person has the opportunity to take a Quantum Leap.

“You must make that decision to get out of your boat, just like Peter, to take a Quantum Leap when the time comes.

Pastor Poju also said that many Christians are suffering of motivational teachings that encouraged them to leave their jobs to start businesses. “Resignation does not mean you have leaped. That you go into full time ministry does not mean you have come out of the boat. The fact that you jumped off does not mean it is a quantum leap,” he said.

Pastor also said that God desires that you have an opportunity that amounts to a Quantum Leap.“God has something in store for every single person this year, and if you discover and decide to go with it, you will jump from one level such that it will stagger people.”

According to him, God uses people to provoke their peers to greatness. “Provocation is scriptural,” he said.

Reading from Romans 11:11, Pastor Poju cited how God used provocation to cause his children to act. He said “You have to make a choice not to be offended and jealous, but to ask God to show you how to take a Quantum Leap.

“If somebody does something big, it means that the grace to do great things is available for everyone.

He read from Romans 12:2-8 to explain the premise that anyone can experience a Quantum Leap in the area of their gifting. “Ministry is financed. Even in Jesus’ ministry, some women decided to give. “Giving is a ministry and there is a grace to give.”

Also reading from Ephesians 4:7, he said that every single person has been given grace.

Pastor added that “The Quantum Leap takes place when grace comes on your life in the area of your gifting. The worst thing to do to yourself is just to get into anything.

“A Quantum Leap is not a careless jump. It is not just doing something daring. “It is based on accurate thinking. An election that is by grace and everybody must experience a Quantum Leap.”

According to Pastor Poju, for you to experience a Quantum Leap, you have to start re-thinking the way you think about things. “No matter how well you think your thoughts are, if it is taking you in circles, there is something wrong with it,” he added.

Speaking on how crisis presents opportunities for a Quantum Leap, Pastor Poju said “crisis will show up and the more you try apply what you know, the law of diminishing return start to set in.

He also read from Ephesians 1:11, 1 Peter 1:3-7, and said “A person who has an inheritance experiences crisis when time comes for you to go to another level. “Here is the first mistake that we make. Once the winds begin to blow, we start praying to God to calm the winds.”

Reading Psalm 106:9-16, Pastor cited an example of someone who loses his job, and immediately proceeds to pray for another job in a seemingly better organization, without finding out God’s will.

Explaining further, he said manufacturing your own prayer point will not bring fulfillment to you. Reading Romans 8:26-27 , he said “If you choose your prayer, it will not be according to his will. You have to pray with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. “The Holy Ghost knows what you are carrying that you do not know. But when you pray your own way, you abort what God wants to do. “When you face a crisis, instead of praying your will, go to God and ask for the manifestation of his will in the midst of the crisis.”

The man of God said that it is time for Christians to leave this materialistic approach to the gospel, adding that anything you are envious of, is the level which you should be.

Scripture reference: James 4:1-3

Pastor Poju also encouraged those who have taken wrong steps, saying that they can get back on course, but was quick to add that they will suffer for a while. “If you leaped wrongly, pray to God and he will re-integrate your error such that you will be able to teach and encourage others,” he said.

Narrating his own experience, he revealed that he went into ministry before his time, and then told everyone to wait for God’s timing before they move.

He read from Ephesians 1:16-19 and said “Know that there is a hope for your calling.

According to Pastor Poju, when Paul talked about the unsearchable riches in Romans 11:33, he was talking about the things God wants to reveal.

Referring to Genesis 26:1-5, he asked “What were the laws Abraham used to multiply?”

“Isaac took the laws which God gave to Abraham to make progress. A man who knows the secrets of the earth cannot fail.”

Warning against doubt, Pastor Poju said “Doubt exists because of an absence of proof. In other words, when you doubt something, you do not have proof.

“God wants to make the supernatural logical to you, and you must understand that his word is the logic.

“The word of God has to enter you to give light and you have to sit with the word of God to be able to be persuaded to act.”

He said that faith is not a risk, adding that “When you walk by faith, you are walking by sight, but it is a sight of a better kind.

“You are looking at something based on the revelation from the word of God. It is not guess work.”

Pastor Poju encouraged everyone to pray, saying that prayer will give you knowledge to perform beyond expectation. He said that is the riches of our inheritance.

In closing, Pastor Poju read from Psalm 23:5, and declared to everyone that the Holy Spirit is the secret to exceptional performance.
