Thou Son of David, Have Mercy On Me! – Apostle Arome Osayi Day 3 Morning Session 2

Apostle Arome Osayi

The West Africa Faith Believers Convention has been of immense contribution to the body of Christ and this year’s edition isn’t an exception with divine manifolds of miracles, prophetic utterances and declarations. Day 3 started on the same note with Pastor Dele Osumakinde opening the day with an eye opening sermon on ‘the definition of sonship in God’ you should listen to the message over and over again.

The second session was taken by Apostle Arome Osayi and I kid you not, The Covenant Nation as a church truly prayed this convention through. Have you ever understood grace through the mercy dimension of God? Apostle Arome dissected this. Quoting Luke 18:34-42 when opening his session, Apostle Arome stated that Jericho means fragrance and the previously cited scripture revealed the man Blind Bartimeus crying out for mercy. We need to investigate his cry, there is something significant in his cry that stopped Jesus. The kind of cry that made Jesus halted. Quoting Acts 2:29-32 investigating the content of the cry of blind Bartimaeus who said “Jesus, thou son of David have mercy on me” there is a background to that cry and it was revisited on the day of Pentecost he said.

God had a covenant with David, he looked at the content of the covenant of David and it’s on this content that Jesus is founded and Bartimeus understood this to call Jesus’s attention. Peter’s explanation on the day of Pentecost was that the crucified Jesus has ascended a throne in heaven which has given him power to administer things in heaven which on earth manifested as the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. There is a proof of this in Psalm 110:1-3, sitting on the right hand of God isn’t physical sitting but in the capacity of administration while God deals with his enemies. He added.

Driving deeper, Apostle Arome explained the Adamic level of dominion is available to all, but the dominion of the Holy Spirit to manifest the government of Christ requires partnership with willing men. The covenant of David bothers on a throne. Citing Psalm 89:20, David was a man after God’s heart hence his throne was a platform through which God found expression.

He prayed for the congregation that as we administer our capacity on earth as a king, we will rule like God. There are some statements that when we make them, the heavens will open instantly. Delving further into the message, he established that grace is administered from the throne as expressed in Hebrews 4:16; the center of this administration of the kingdom of God is the throne of God. We can’t access grace in the throne of grace without first obtaining mercy. Bartimeus understood Jesus is the administer of grace and took the opportunity of his mercy to access grace. We must understand we need to secure mercy first before securing grace.

Sharing his experience of one of his pastors who died after a brain surgery a couple of years back, they kept crying to God “thou son of David, have mercy on me”. He rose after 38 minutes. It wasn’t a matter of their belief in God but their cry for mercy.

The Apostolic meeting drew to a close with cries for mercy and intercessions for healings which birthed miracles both physically and virtually.
