The Mystery of Mercy – Pastor Keion Henderson Day 4 Morning Session 1

Pastor Keion Henderson

The first morning session of WAFBEC day four began with the ministration of Pastor Keion Henderson, who is the Lead Pastor of Light House Church Houston. His topic was the Mystery of Mercy, with Lamentations 3:22-23 being the anchor text. He started by describing the writer of the book of Lamentations who was Prophet Jeremiah and was born to a Priest called Hilkiah, meaning he was raised in a house where the Word of God was important.

He went on to say that we should not be concerned about any labels put on us because God has a bigger anointing in us and that the anointing on our lives will supersede those we’re looking unto. Again, he noted that although Jeremiah came from an affluent family, he not only experienced prosperity but also persecution. And because of the accuracy of his prophetic gift as anyone who can see things from afar, he became the enemy of those who can only see things up close, as the enemy doesn’t want people to go far.

He also announced to the participants that the reason that the attack is so great is that there’s a prophet in us, and it irritates the devil. He prophesied that we won’t be subject to another attack because God will always reveal them to us. He advised that the discovery of our new positions as prophets is not to open a church but to carry the word of God wherever we go.

In furthering his point, he said that true prophets don’t shut up in bondage but keep speaking till they get their desired results.

The highlight of his message was when he likened the mercy of God to a womb:

  1. It doesn’t always produce the day it comes as there’s a process.
  2. The embryonic fluid used to protect us is the blood of Jesus Christ which can also be called his mercy. This is important as every time we sin, we are at the risk of eternal danger.
  3. Thirdly, just like the placenta stays the same in a woman till she gets pregnant is the same way we need to grow our gift of prophecy by feeding it with the word of God and prayers
  4. We should not be afraid of returning to a lifestyle of mercy because that’s our origin like the embryonic fluid protected us in the womb.
  5. Lastly, that mercy is the umbilical cord that connects us to the father.

He concludes his teaching by saying that when it is time for the baby to be born, the cord must be cut. Hence, mercy is the womb we live, grow, and feed in it but soon we have to move from mercy to miracles, where before everything is done for you but now you have to do something for yourself.
