Pastor Sola Fola-Alade speaks on The Prophetic Ministry – Day 5 Afternoon Session 2

Pastor Sola Fola-Alade

At his second session at WAFBEC 2022, Pastor Shola Fola- Alade started by saying a way through which God’s compassion is shown is through the prophetic. He stated that prophets are God’s response to people’s cry for mercy just as God sent Moses to be a response to the cry of the children of Israel on several occasions, as seen for instance in Exodus 3:7-9 and 2 Chronicles 26:1-6.

Pastor Shola says that this is the same way God has put answers to the prayer of the congregations in the heart of different prophets that will be speaking at this conference. He revealed that he had such a strong pull in the spirit a while back, recognising this as a result of the pull of someone’s spirit who was praying in preparation for WAFBEC, and he was willing to come all the way from London to Lagos to deliver God’s verdict no matter what it would take him.

Reading from 1 Kings 17:4 – 7, Pastor Shola went on to establish that one thing about the prophetic is that a prophet is not a title but a mantle. Prophets foretell and also forthtell, he said. When God wants to have mercy on someone or a people, he either sends a prophet or he makes you prophetic. He went on to say that in the new testament, God prefers to make believers prophetic.

Speaking further Pastor Fola said one of his major assignments in the kingdom is to demystify the prophetic. He recognised that there is something called the office of the prophetic, but then God has called him to make the prophetic very relatable, saying the body of Christ needs prophetic parenting, prophetic marriages etc.

The preacher noted that there is something about the beginning of the year, saying that for him, the period is the most significant time of the year because it is the time to watch and see what God will say to him.

On a lighter mood, he asked the congregation, ‘Do you know that there is a particular channel you can tune to, to hear God?’ Answering his own question, he replied that it is Supernatural FM, 33.3FM. Examining further, he says that from Jeremiah 33:3 ‘call on me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know. He also quoted Ezekiel 33:3.

Zechariah 3:21, Zechariah 1:17

He explained that anyone who truly operates in the prophetic knows that in that realm both the divine and the demonic operates. The prophetic ministry is not complete till you get the full spectrum of what is in the spirit. Pastor Shola noted that what had made Nigerian Christianity what it is today, as the first 20 biggest churches in the world are from Nigerian, is mostly because the father’s of faith in the country had a balance of the word and the spirit. He stated that the last move of God will have the balance of the word and the spirit. Now what we need is the voice of God, which comes by a mix of the Spirit of God and the word of God.

Speaking further, the preacher stated 8 Advantages of the prophetic ministry

  1. Prediction.

Prediction is when God tells you today what will happen tomorrow. 1 Samuel 9:15-17 A thing about prophecy is that when God tells you you should either proclaim it or pray about it.

  1. Prophetic ministry gives direction or instructions

Acts 13:1-3 Whenever there is a prophet around you, there will be direction.

  1. The Prophetic brings correction

Galatians 4:19, I Sam. 2:27

  1. The Prophetic brings exposure.

This is like discernment and it can be either possible or negative. God shows the true intents of people with prophecies.

  1. The Prophetic ministry brings warnings. (Ezekiel 33:2)
  2. The prophetic Ministry brings intercession. (Acts 12:1-5)
  3. Prophetic ministry brings breakthroughs. (Zechariah 4:7)
  4. Prophetic ministry brings deliverance

Concluding his message, Pastor Shola ended by saying God has called him to authenticate the prophetic ministry, saying for every fake, there is a genuine.
