Pastor Poju’s brief session on the evening of the third day of this year’s WAFBEC was focused on presenting the evidence from scriptures that it is God’s will to heal, all without exception.
He started by stating that the same blood that procured forgiveness also procured healing. The atonement takes away sin as well as takes care of sicknesses and diseases.
The greatest barrier to faith for everyone who seeks healing is uncertainty in their heart that God desires every person to be healed, he said. Fasting and praying will not reverse what you don’t believe, except you’re using the fasting and prayer to eliminate unbelief – that is to see the evidence.
It’s only what you see with the eyes of faith that you can receive. Hence your eyes have to be opened to the revelation of your healing, and that has to be your prayer – that God opens your eyes to see.
He quoted Ps 28:1, Ps 13:1-5, John 3:11 -14, Num 21:5-9 and explained that Jesus has to be lifted the same way Moses lifted up the serpent as that’s what guarantees salvation and deliverance. What we do as ministers, therefore, is to lift Jesus before the people so they can fix their eyes on the risen Christ.
You need to become satisfied with feasting your eyes on the evidence from the word for whatever you’re reaching for. Healing can’t be permanent without the word entering into you. That word is the evidence that you keep looking at so you’re not moved when there are contrary circumstances like Peter who started walking on water but soon started to sink when he beheld the wind blowing. Matt 14:28-30
He went on to present evidence from scriptures that it’s God’s will for everyone without exception to be healed.
Matt 8:16-17 All were healed in fulfilment of God’s promise in Isaiah that he bore our sicknesses and diseases (Isa 53:4)
Matt 4:23 All manner of sicknesses and diseases were healed by Jesus
Matt 9:35-36 He healed every sickness and every disease
Matt 12:15 He healed them all.
Matt 14:34-36 All that touched were made perfectly whole without exception.
Luke 6:17-19 All were healed
What you see is what you get. That’s the evidence you have to keep your eyes on. Ask that your eyes be opened to see the evidence. Then keep your eyes on that evidence. Once you take your eyes away from the evidence, you begin to doubt. It’s the Holy Spirit that changes you but all he needs from you is to behold the evidence.
