Day 7: Session 4 – Pastor Kola Ewuosho

Pastor Kola Ewuosho was the second speaker during the school of the spirit. He continued his teaching on the Blue Print for a Victorious Life.

1 Peter 5:9; Mark. 11:23

He started out his session by explaining the importance of confessions. Why do we make confessions and declarations of God’s Word? We do so to build an inner image of our desire according to the will of God, this then enables us to change our external conditions. Confessions of the Word of God must be done consistently because even though it may appear things are not changing externally, things are happening spiritually.

He used the illustration when he was desirous of increase in his life while a minister of God in the Northern part of Nigeria. He said everyday he would declare growth, increase and prosperity for the church and his life but things remained the same for a while. Though nothing changed externally there was the inner conviction based on the Word of God he had received hence he persevered. Surely, every single desire came to pass to the glory of God. The key was remaining consistent in his declaration of what God’s Word had revealed to him concerning the matter.

He noted that who you are in Jesus Christ is not a subjective thing. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. The blessings of the Word of God have been made available to all; whether you believe it or not, the provision has been made. If you do not press into God it makes no difference; it’s up to you to determine whether you want to live a victorious Christian life or not…

He noted that already, many of us are doing the things God tells us to do but with the wrong motives (e.g for personal gain, to glorify the flesh etc). God wants us to prosper on His own terms so we need to change our mind sets. Once we change our mindset things will become clearer and begin to fall in place. The knowledge of God must be revealed to us so we can then walk in the purpose of God for our lives.

The blessings of God are ours for the taking but…there’s a labour we must ensure to enter into God’s rest. It is the labour of sowing the Word of God into our lives and daily confessing it in the face of adversity and contrary situations.

In explaining the characteristics of a victorious believer Pastor Kola noted that we should learn from the lifestyles of three groups of people – the soldier, the athlete and the farmer.

Like soldiers we must understand our weapons of warfare (the Word of God, the Blood and the name of Jesus Christ) how to use them and in which terrains.

Like farmers, we must understand times and seasons, the principles of sowing and reaping and the place of confident expectation. The one who gave you seed expects a harvest – be diligent and consistent.

Like athletes we must understand the place of preparation and consistency. It’s not about the intensity of our declarations but the consistency and continuity of them. We must remain focused (meditation of the Word of God) and ensure our lifestyles are in agreement with the end goal/objective (Psalm. 1:1-3). We must exercise our faith. How? By praying in the Holy Ghost (Rom. 8: 26 – 28)

In closing, he concluded by reiterating the power in the Word of God.

God has the power to transform anyone through His Word (Rom. 12:2). We must sow the Word of God diligently in our hearts as it is the Word of God that will attract other seeds we should sow to unlock breakthroughs in all areas of life.

Pastor Ewuosho added that the place of gratitude for all that God has done should not be neglected as it helps as a reminder of all God has done and is yet able to do again.

To ensure we live victorious lives we must know the following:
1. Our Position: who we are in Christ?
2. Our Condition: who we were in Adam? and
3. Our assignment: the purpose of our existence in God on earth

With these things we are able to know through the Word of God. Once our spirit is in alignment with the Spirit of God, God reveals His plans and intents for you to you! The greatest potential for greatness and success is in the spirit realm.

The Word of God works!
