Day 6 Afternoon Pastor Muyiwa Areo

He started by reading from John 12:28-29 and he revealed that it is possible to be unable to decode correctly what we heard in the spirit. This is seen in the witnesses saying they heard an angel even though it was God speaking and not an Angel as they thought. Just as they lacked this clarity of hearing, we could also be in the same position too. With this passage, Pastor Muyiwa was able to establish that everything is created twice. First it’s created in the realm of the spirit and then it’s done in the physical. What this means is that what God has settled in the realm of the Spirit, he wants it done in the physical as well and through us this time.

Following this, he read from Luke 19:41-47 and shared how Jesus wept greatly over Jerusalem. He then pointed out that there is a prophetic saying over our lives as individuals however, in some cases, there may be no physical manifestation of the prophetic utterance. This was the ironic case of Jerusalem which was supposed to be a place of peace as its name implies.

Still referring to the story in this passage of the Bible, Pastor Muyiwa Areo admonished the congregation to never despise any word of prophecy even if there was a delay of its manifestation. He read 1 Thessalonians 5:20 to corroborate this point. Next, he read 1 Timothy 1:18 and announced that prophetic utterances are sent to aid us.

Using a true life story of his experience in ministry, he gave an illustration of how it is possible to continue to walk in disobedience and consequently becoming unable to fulfill the prophetic word about one’s life. In Luke 19:45, he showed how the people turned the house of God into something other than it was meant to be.  Also, in Ephesians 1:17-18, he tells of how we are elevated higher and higher as we give ourselves more to praying in Spirit. A lot of things in our lives begin to align as we pray more in the spirit. He referred to Luke 19:47 after making this point. In addition to this, there’s usually accuracy in the things we’re praying about when we start to pray in the Spirit.

In addition to this, he emphasised the need for children of God to respond to the nudging to pray any time it comes. To this, he warned the congregation to not confine themselves to praying at only a particular time. The danger of this is that they will find it hard to obey when they’re nudged by the spirit to pray at an hour that is different from that which they’ve set as a custom prayer time.

In closing, he defined the being of the holy spirit as a help that functions in the capacity of a witness. A witness, he explained, is not someone that causes things to happen but one who confirms things that are to happen to us. He likened the inward witness – the person of the holy spirit – to a GPS.
