Day 4: Session 6 – Pastor Cyril Yerifor

In his second sermon at WAFBEC 2015 Pastor Cyril Yerifor once again continued along the lines of Good Conscience at the school of the spirit session.

1Tim18-19, Acts 23:1, 2Tim 1:3, Heb 13:18

Pastor Yerifor queried the audience, ‘how many realise that the decision to live honourably will come at a cost? The desire to live honourably will entail forgiveness and walking in love. The love of God cannot afford the luxury of strife.

When it comes to offenses we must not shut up the voice of the spirit because operating in good conscience could make it appear the individual is weak, has been taken advantage of and other similar incidents.

Acts 24:15-16

You’ll be amazed that people are offended in God because of the circumstances of their birth, conception, upbringing etc. All of us have no control over our conception, birth and upbringing but wherever life has thrown at you isn’t what ought to define you. If you walk with God by faith you can walk into glory. So we cannot continue to use them as excuses.

Stop blaming God for where you’ve had to start from when He’s willing to work with you to overcome them.

When people reject good conscience they ultimately suffer a shipwreck of their faith.

1Tim4:1-2
you must not forget that we want to serve God with a good conscience. Two things that sear the conscience are the doctrines of demons and speaking lies in hypocrisy. Hypocrisy means living sinful secret lives whilst the public appearance maybe one of piety.

The greatest victim of hypocrisy is the hypocrite himself and continuing in this lifestyle could lead to a seared conscience.

Titus 1:10

The conscience should be purged from the doctrines of demons and superstition. When doctrine isn’t truth it defiles the conscience.

Faith does not fail on the other hand we cause our faith to fail and one of the primary ways we do this is because we don’t maintain good conscience.
