Day 3 Morning Rev Laurie Idahosa It’s Time For A Glow Up

Key Scriptures: Isaiah 60:1-2 (NLT), Matthew 5:13-16(ESV)

Your glow is directly related to the people with whom you are in contact. You were not meant to be alone.

You are the light of the world; people should find meaning in their lives through you.

Your light can only truly shine when you discover God’s purpose for you and accomplish it. When you do not live as the light of the world, you live a normal life like everyone else.

Psalm 92:10-15 (NLT).

But you have made me as strong as a wild ox.

    You have anointed me with the finest oil.

11 My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies;

    my ears have heard the defeat of my wicked opponents.

12 But the godly will flourish like palm trees

    and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.

13 For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house.

    They flourish in the courts of our God.

14 Even in old age they will still produce fruit;

    they will remain vital and green.

15 They will declare, “The Lord is just!

    He is my rock!

    “There is no evil in him!”

In this scripture, we are described as a wild ox. You must envision yourself as powerful, vibrant, and agile. Don’t count yourself out, regardless of your age. The word “retirement” does not appear in the Bible. We should bear fruit even in our old age.

People who lack a sense of purpose will eventually fade away and lose their relevance.

When we think of someone who is glowing, we think of someone who is “happy,” and here are eight (8) proven ways for your light to shine so brightly before men that they may glorify your Father in heaven:

Determine the goal: (1 John 3:8 AMP; 2 Corinthians 5:18 NLT) Every one of us serves a purpose. Your decisions will be guided by your purpose. When you know where you’re going, you can put up safeguards to keep yourself from getting derailed. Your goal is to bring men back to God.

Do not compare yourself with others (Gal 6:4-5, MSG & NLT, 2 Cor 10:12). Be content with who God created you to be. Each of you must accept responsibility for being the best that God has created you to be. You will frustrate yourself and those around you if you try to be someone you are not.

Encourage meaningful relationships (Psalm 1:1–2, Proverbs 13:20, Ecclesiastes 4:10, and Proverbs 27:17). It matters who you associate with. You will be like the people you associate with. Do not isolate yourself. Discover covenant relationships.

Stock up on the fundamentals. (Heb 4:12) Whatever you bring into your life eventually manifests itself. You manifest whatever you take in. You must know the truth about God’s word, and it must serve as your foundation.

Be a God-pleaser rather than a people-pleaser (Proverbs 16:7; Romans 8:8). Your ways are not pleasing God if you have a long list of enemies. Instead of praying about your enemies, you might want to try “Lord, let my ways please you.”

Be authentic. Be the person God created you to be. Authenticity takes time to emerge, especially for those who have mastered the art of being inauthentic. God employs genuine people. Joseph didn’t have to change himself to be like the people around him; he remained true to himself. Stop acting like a chameleon.

Develop an eternal viewpoint (Phil 4:6–8). When we have an eternal perspective, our lives change, and we can live our purpose. Allow things that don’t matter to fall away.
