Day 3: Holy Ghost Service – Pastor Mark Hankins

Day 3: Holy Ghost Service – Pastor Mark Hankins

Romans 14:17, 1Corinthians 2:4

Once again Pastor Mark Hankins took to the podium at WAFBEC 2015 at the third Holy Ghost service. The message was titled The Purpose and Work of the Holy Spirit. Immediately getting into the crux of the sermon, he reminded everyone that joy is a demonstration of expectations and revelation.

In the demonstration of the Holy Spirit lies his power. Knowing how faith works does not mean you know how God does the supernatural. God performs everything by His power. Anytime the Holy Spirit works, He conquers chaos and darkness.

Gideon was the least, from the least of families yet God saw Him as a mighty man of valour. When he eventually agreed with God’s view of him, the Holy Spirit took possession of him. When the power of God rests on you, He turns you from a loser to a success.

Luke 29:49

The Holy Spirit takes everything Jesus did and makes it a reality in your life. When the Holy Spirit moves, He reaches into your future to make things happen. We need to open up to the Holy Ghost for Him to move.

The Holy Spirit demonstrates His power both spiritually and physically. Through the demonstration of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, He shows us the things that belong to us through Christ. The Holy Spirit is here on earth to live in those that have accepted Christ forever. He wants to move into our lives with all His stuff (i.e. those things that Jesus has bought for us through His sacrifice on the cross) but we need to make room for Him. We need to take our own stuff out in order to make room for Him.

There are also physical demonstrations of the Holy Spirit e.g. the tongues of fire that appeared on the heads of the disciples, sound, laughter etc.  He comes with radical change. When the Holy Spirit brings alive the Word, there is change in the one that receives it. Like Smith Wigglesworth said “a man can have a gift and never know it until He acts in faith.”

The Holy Spirit will prompt you to rejoice. What’s your act of faith? What’s the demonstration of the Holy Spirit in you? Is it singing, stomping, dancing or shouting His praise? The glory of God comes from your act of faith. Have you lost your mind to Jesus?

Get so intoxicated that you drink from the presence of the Lord. A fresh wave of the Holy Ghost is coming for this generation!

Ephesians 3:14-23

There is an inexhaustible supply from God’s presence. When the Holy Spirit lights your candle, you will run through troops and leap over walls. When you’re filled with the Holy Spirit, you have the love of Christ and will not find fault with others. You will have the fullness of God and the riches of His glory.  When the wave of glory comes, there’s multiplication, God in His glory never shows up anywhere broke.

The word ‘glory’ cannot be described with one English word. In the Greek, glory means wealth (there is an abundance of wealth and we’re able to possess new territory), commerce, numbers (innumerable company of angels will go out on our behalf to cause prosperity), wisdom (i.e. revelation), promotion, dignity, power and authority, valour, nobility, extraordinary privileges and advantages. All these are the riches of God’s glory.

Psalm 29:1-9.

In His temple, everyone speaks of His glory.
