Day 3 Afternoon Pastor Segun Obadje

Pastor Obadje started by revealing what he was told in the place of prayer about the symbolism of WAFBEC. He then went on to explain what an altar is. He defined it as a place of exchange, a place of interaction, a place of sacrifice. After this, he likened WAFBEC to a prophetic altar.

Following this, he announced that a revival was coming to the body of Christ in general and it was a revival of the consciousness of the kingdom of God and all the dimensions that come with it. It is a revival of the consciousness and preparation for the coming of our lord Jesus Christ.

Referring to the shift that Apostle Arome Osayi talked about in his message yesterday, he said that shift would come by an injection of the revival into the body of Christ. He emphasised that this revival was coming in particular to Nigeria and this revival would bring back a heightened consciousness of the Christian virtues in the body of Christ. He then went on to analyse the growth of the church in Nigeria. He also noted that there was a move of the spirit of God that is moving us gradually to perfection here in the Nigerian church.

Reading from 1 Corinthians 1:7, 1 Thessalonians 2:19, 1 Thessalonians 3:13 and 1 Thessalonians 5:23, he referred significantly to the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Explaining his first coming, he mentioned his immaculate birth through Mary who was a Virgin.

He went on to talk about the mention of the kingdom of God and how John the Baptist was the first to preach about it. After him, Jesus did. With this, Pastor Obadje revealed that the gospel message is encapsulated in the kingdom of God. The entry point into the kingdom of God is the new birth – being born again. This is seen in John 3:3-5.

Reading from Colossians 1:13, he pointed out that our being born again was so that we can be translated into the kingdom of God. He also explained the kingdom of God further reading from Ephesians 2:8. He explained that if this knowledge of the teaching about the kingdom of God isn’t balanced within us, it would be lopsided. This kingdom, he pointed out, was within us.

From the passage in 1 Corinthians 6:9, Pastor Obaje revealed that there is a kingdom to inherit and only those who are righteous can enter this inheritance of that Kingdom.

With 1 Corinthians 15:50, he made it clear that flesh and blood is not what would inherit this said kingdom. To support this point, he also read from Galatians.

Pastor Obadje went on to put emphasis on living righteously as a means to inherit this kingdom and in particular, he mentioned unforgiveness as a sin to avoid. To support this point, he read from Ephesians 5:6.

In the book of Colossians 3:1, he talked about being risen with Christ. As he went on in his teaching, he also read from Colossians 3:3-10 to put enough spotlight on the importance of living a holy life. Just as we believe God for material things like cars, we can also believe him to stop committing little little sins like telling lies.

In the passage of 2 Peter 1:7-8, he emphasised that charity was the last virtue required to be added to us and we weren’t asked to add anything to charity because it is the height of living a holy life. He revealed that people who don’t develop Christian virtues are barren in their work in Christ. Possessing the Christian virtues as listed in this scripture, arms us with foresight, he said.

In the book of 2 Peter 1:5-11, he stated that there was a kingdom coming and we need to prepare for it. In closing, he admonished that we exude the kind of love that was described in Matt 25:24-30
