Day 2: Session 3 – Reverend Efe Obuke

Reverend Efe Obuke was the inaugural speaker for the school of the Spirit sessions at WAFBEC 2015. After some words of appreciation for Pastor’ Poju Oyemade, he gave a narrative on how he met his wife and how through walking in the spirit they overcame the challenge of child bearing which they discovered early on in their marriage.

Revelations 6:6, Genesis 27:25-37, Joel 1:4, 10, 2:17-19, Hosea 2:21-22

Making reference to the scriptures above, Rev Efe expounded on the significance of the Holy Spirit as the corn, wine and oil in the life of a believer especially in this Age of deterioration, stress and economic hardship. He categorically stated that for believers to reign in these last days the corn, wine and oil is absolutely necessary. Only the believers that possess these ingredients will be masters. According to him, “the corn, the wine and oil will make the difference in these last days”.

He also explained that many symbols which were used in the Bible to describe the Holy Spirit were based on His functions and operations at that particular point in time. Though there are many symbols related with Holy Spirit, Rev. Obuke informed the audience he would focus primarily on the oil during the WAFBEC 2015 School of the Spirit.

In his conclusion, the Reverend used the parable of the ten virgins (Mathew 25) to describe how the acquisition of oil distinguishes between the wise believers and the foolish ones. He encouraged every believer to pray and be prepared to pay the price for the acquisition of the oil, because the oil cannot be passed from one person to another. It requires spending time in fellowship with the Holy Spirit otherwise, “a virgin without oil will be a victim in this age”
