Day 2 (Morning Session 2) with Bishop Francis Wale Oke

Day 2 (Morning Session 2) with Bishop Francis Wale Oke

Bishop Wale Oke commenced his session with the story of how he went to visit an old man of eighty nine years old in 1975. He was going to start ministry. The old man told him, “Welcome Francis you are one of the people I was waiting for”.

According to the old man, he was going to die but God wanted him to meet one of the carriers of the grace for their generation.

He spoke on the role of fasting if a Christian wants to see the glory of God. He also tied it to spiritual sight. According to him, “Spiritual sight is important for the glory of God to be manifested in our lives.”

Bishop Oke shared how Hagar and Ishmael could have starved to death if their eyes hadn’t been opened. Elisha had to pray for his servant’s eyes to be opened II Kings 7:15-17. Spiritual sight is highly Important.

Still teaching, he explained that ministers are the hope of the nation. They are needed for the change in humanity, and are encouraged not to restrain God’s glory. God opens a blank cheque do not limit him.

Bishop Oke emphasized on how fasting is a weapon of warfare and a tool to humble Christians Psalm 144:1. It is also a spiritual exercise, II Tim 4: 7-8

“Fasting”, he said, “is an access to grace”. He said this while quoting the words of Kenneth Hagin – “whatever feeds your spirit starved your flesh likewise whatever feeds your flesh starved your spirit”.

Fasting is a means to tap into divine help and get heaven’s attention. He shared his encounter with God when he faced heavy persecution and fasted for lengthy days. “Fasting draws God’s attention.”, he emphasized.

He then prophesied over the congregation, declaring that sorrows will be turned to joy. “Whatever threatens anyone’s life is crushed, this year we fly”, “There is a restoration of lost years Joel 2:22-27.”, “God will intervene in situations in people’s lives.” were some of the prophetic declarations he made during the second morning session.
