Day 1: WAFBEC 2016 Opening Remarks – Pastor ‘Poju Oyemade

Pastor ‘Poju took a few minutes to share on the best way to reap the best results from the West African Faith Believers’ Convention that kicked off today at the Covenant Place, Iganmu.

Quoting Psalm 63: 4-6 he pointed out how David did not give sleep his eyes in order for him to meditate on God’s word.

Isaiah 25:6-10 is the governing scripture for this year’s edition and he pointed out that God will cause the promises there to happen by the Holy Spirit.

The reason for meetings like this and receiving ministers is highlighted in Romans 1:9-11 where Paul wanted to see the people in the church at Rome in order to impart some spiritual gifts unto them. Pastor ‘Poju emphasised that the physical presence of ministers presents an opportunity for an impartation of spiritual gifts. This will then produce certain things in the lives of those present.

So as ministers speak under the unction and give prophetic utterances to stir up those things, mediation will cause participants to receive and make them a permanent part of their lives. The devil seeks to snatch those things immediately and when we stay up and sit with them through the process of meditation they will not slip.

Furthermore, going over the scriptures and muttering them when we get home will ensure that signs, wonders and diverse miracles of the Holy Spirit will occur at the meetings daily. Those that benefit most from the meetings are those that keep hearing the words over and over again in meditation. During this process it takes root in their heart (spirit).

As he rounded up, Pastor Oyemade stated that words will be given for every area of participants lives and these words should not be neglected but meditated upon so that the growth, multiplication and dominion of the Word will prevail over all else.
