Day 3: Session 2 – Pastor ‘Poju Oyemade

The Importance of Meditation (1 Thessalonians 2:17)

As Christians, we must understand that there is spiritual warfare going on over our lives. To get into the fullness of God’s blessings, we must fight this warfare with conscious preparation and ruthless determination. We must remember that the devil is in a constant battle to devour every opportunity we can have to enjoy God’s blessings.

One of the ways he does this is by manipulating events to bring road blocks, thereby preventing us from standing in the place where God’s blessing can locate us.

In the scripture reference, Paul the apostle purposed and made several attempts to visit the church in Thessalonica. He desired operations of the Holy Spirit meant to take the Thessalonian church into deeper dimensions of God’s blessing. At some other time, a letter from Paul to the Church would have done the work. But on this occasion, his physical presence was to be the agency of the Holy Spirit’s operation. This was what Satan was bent on preventing!

In all sincerity, most people would have purposed to attend WAFBEC, but somehow, the enemy hindered them. Satan disguises these hindrances in unexpected workload, traffic gridlock, or even personal emergencies to prevent affected individuals from coming into the operations of the Spirit meant to take them into deeper dimensions of God’s blessings.

Two full days already into WAFBEC and powerful, destiny-transforming testimonies are already trickling in. Satan is not unaware of the eternal consequences of these Holy Ghost Operations; hence, his frustrating ploys. Truth is victory has been made available to us and we only need to tap into Christ’s provision for our victory.

Our responsibility is to deal decisively with those spiritual barriers that use natural events to hinder us in the place of prayer. Attend the meetings with intent of heart, Decide on specific issues of your life you want God’s word and power to touch and come expectant that God will send a word through His servants to address those areas. In spiritual meetings like this, generalization brings about good feelings, but specificity and intent bring about powerful transformation.

As you come, lay aside pride and intellectual arrogance and open yourself up to the ministration of the Spirit and of power.

Making the most of the meetings

Simply put, but unequivocally stressed, MEDITATION is key to getting the very best out of these meetings.

In I Timothy 4:13-15 Paul told Timothy, “Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine…meditate on upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.”

Meditation brings manifestation.

As you go through each session, take notes of what God says to you through the spoken word specifically. After each day’s sessions, go home, spend time meditating on them. Mutter them to yourself, declare the promises of God concerning them and confess that they are fulfilled realities already in your life. It is important you hear yourself say those things. This is what it means to work out your own salvation and this is what will bring about the direct manifestation or specific action that you will take to open yourself up to the manifestation.

The woman with the issue of blood must have meditated till she did not only know all she needed was to touch Christ’s garment but she also knew all she needed to touch was the helm of Christ’s garment. That’s the catch with meditation. You don’t need to know what to do. Just meditate. Light will break in your spirit. Through meditation, we understand the WAYS of God, not just His ACTS!

Mediation is the labour we must engage in to enter into His rest. Isaac was in meditation mode when Rebecca appeared. Jacob meditated till he got the formula for increase and productivity. Those who constantly engage in the practice of meditation function at a level of creativity, insight and intelligence that naturally flows to them without labour.

It’s your season of grace for acceleration.
