WAFBEC 2019 (Day 7) Evening Session 1 With Bishop Keith Butler

The first evening session was graced by Bishop Keith Butler, the Senior Pastor of Word Of Faith International Center. Tonight, the Bishop taught on the power of the seed, explaining that great results comes when you obey the word of the Lord.

His first scripture was taken from the book of Luke 4:25. He explained that faith is very important when it comes to the supply (or provision) of God in a season of famine. He used the story of Elijah in 1 kings 19 and 1 Kings 16 vs 30.

According to him, “There is a place God needs us to be in other to receive blessings at every point in time. To prosper, it requires you being in the right place at the right time. God says in the middle of this economic crisis, in the midst of were people are dying for lack of hunger or lack of food, I have a place where I will care for you and you have to go to that place”.

While he spoke on the power of sowing seeds, he encouraged everyone to be mindful of doing good to others. He showed in Elijah story how God led him to the widow of Sidon, and gave both of them instruction on what to do. “Despite the fact this widow at Zarephath had barely enough to feed her and her son.  She didn’t get offended at God’s instruction to feed the prophet with her last meal.

He added that it is important for Christians to believe the word of God. He said “The woman had just one morsel of bread and a jar of oil left to sustain her and her son.

“The Zarephath widow made the decision to believe the word and acted upon it. Her and household did eat many days. She had little seed, but the little seed provided an harvest for her for an entire year. There was supernatural provision for the widow at Zarephath”.

According to him, “The reason why it was only this widow God sent Elijah to, is because only she, had these qualities of faith required for receiving the word of the lord, believing and acting on it.

He went on to explain this power of sowing by God’s word. He concluded by saying that you need to be a sower just like this widow of Zarephath . But to sow you need a seed, and you currently have a seed, no matter how little.

He encouraged the people to cultivate the right attitude. “It is not okay to have seeds and want to sow, you also need to have the right heart to be able to focus on the other person’s need. There is no harvest without planting seed, every opportunity to plant seed opens up door for supernatural harvest”.

God is going to use people on the earth, not just for your own provision but God may want to use you to be provision for somebody else.
