RESTORING THE YEARS
Dr Bill Winston continued his teaching on Restoring the years. The first part was FAITH AS THE FOUNDATION.
He read two scriptures Joel 2:23-28, Acts 1:6. He said that the power referred to in Acts 1:6 means the miracle working anointing.
Reading from 2 Cor. 4:13, Mark 11:23, he said that if you’re going to grow, you have to know what faith it and how it works. And when you got born again as a believer, you got a measure of faith.
Dr. Winston said, “To know the foundation of God’s teaching, you need to learn it by faith, because faith is what the just will live by. It the faith is that God expects you to have, that will assist you to live through this life. Satan tries to keep us from believing, so he tries to take away the Bible, set off believers, keeping their minds on things that are not true.”
According to Rom. 8:5, the carnal mind is a mind whose thinking is based on this world’s reality. Dr. Winston said that the reality that you can see is like a speck of dust, when compared to the reality that you can’t see. A carnal thinking is when you try to satisfy the senses before you believe. He said, quoting Heb. 11:3 that it is by faith that we understand, not by reasoning.
He said, “Crying to God without faith is worthless. When you come before Him, you have to come by faith. Faith is what gives you access to God’s promises. Everything Jesus did when he walked the earth, he did by faith. He had to do it by faith, because he walked the earth as a man.”
As he read John 5:26 – 27, he explained that Jesus had to come as a man (human), because only a man has authority of the earth, as God gave the authority of the earth to a man (Adam). If he had come to earth as God and tried to do something, it would have been illegal. God cannot do anything on earth without a man, as the authority over the earth belongs to man.
Again he explained, using Matt. 15:12-14, 14:35, that whatever is rooted down inside of you rules your life. To get out any wrong thing rooted inside of you, you have to work by faith through the word of God, cursing it to the root and replacing it with the word of faith. What we create/produce come out of what is deposited in us.
“People are poor because of what they choose to create; you create from inside out.”
He made the following statements backing them up with scriptural references;
Reading from Luke 4:18, he explained that the Holy Ghost is the one who brings the anointing. Anointing (in above text) refers to the ‘yoke destroying power’. He said that while on earth Jesus operated as a man; and that is why the Holy Spirit had to descend on him like a dove. In order to do anything for God, you need his power. This is he said referencing Luke 4:20-21.
He further taught that in the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit was always on an individual. But in the New Testament, he is on everybody; every believer. {1 Sam. 16:13,17:33, 2 Kings 2:12, Ps 144:1}
Still speaking about the Holy Spirit, he said that God doesn’t answer a question unless you ask. And that evil spirits don’t come from God. He said that the reason Saul was tormented by evil spirit was because the Spirit of God had left him. It was much like when one’s hand is dipped in a bucket of water; the moment the hand is removed, the space is filled up. So, the moment the Spirit of God left Saul, the evil spirits overtook him.
In closing, he prayed thsat the anointing of God will take everyone at the congregation to the top of their industries, and make them win battles they were not trained for.
