WAFBEC 2018 – Day 8 (Morning Session 3) with Rev. Mark Hankins

WAFBEC 2018 – Day 8 (Morning Session 3) with Rev. Mark Hankins

On his last session at this year’s WAFBEC, Rev. Mark Hankins spoke about “The demonstration of the Holy Spirit”.

According to John 7:37, Jesus said on the most important day of the feast, come to me and drink. Believe in me and out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. This spake he, of the Holy Spirit who was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified. He has now been glorified and the rivers have been overflowing.

Rev. Mark said that we carry the change. We are being changed, and we carry the change for the lives that are wounded and lost. A change that affects our thinking, attitude, and in our body. A change of scenery not by our ability but by God’s spirit. This is a fresh anointing of God that makes you laugh in the face of adversity and in front of the enemy. You shall cheer up for it shall be as God told you.

Reading Rom 14:17, he said “The realm of God exudes righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. The joy in the Holy Ghost is a demonstration, a kingdom culture.”

In Acts 13:52, the disciples were filled with joy and Holy Ghost. Note that Joy and Holy Ghost were used together.

He said, reading 1 Cor 2:4, that a man may have a gift from God and never know it until he acts in faith. Faith is a noun, it must have corresponding action. ‘Believe’ is a verb, when you believe there is an action involved. The action is what activates the anointing.

He explained that ‘Reason’ can’t change emotions because emotions are more powerful than reasoning. But action will, because it is more powerful than emotions. You can’t reason your way into a feeling but you can act your way into feeling. There is a lot of the Holy Spirit teaching but little demonstration. There is a connection between the demonstration and power.

The Holy Spirit has the power to stir in us the most holy emotions. The Holy Spirit is our Advocate, Comforter, Counsellor. He has never lost a case. If we can just get ourselves to listen to him then he wins the case every time.

“There is a lot of the Holy Spirit teaching but little demonstration.”

Speaking on the Holy Spirit, Rev. Mark added that as our ADVOCATE the Holy Spirit has exceptional knowledge. He is a genius who makes us look so smart when we listen to him. When you have a genius living in you, you do more listening and less of the talking.

The Holy Spirit has expertise in PROTOCOL and PROCEDURE. He knows how to handle business. If you want to win a case he tells us how to act. He will prompt us to do things irrespective of our feelings. Dancing, singing is a demonstration of the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit gives us the right word to say. He helps our infirmities. We know not how to pray according to the nature of that case, the Holy Spirit helps us to pray against any kind of infirmity and especially against not knowing what to say.

“The Holy Spirit is an expert in PROTOCOL and PROCEDURE. He knows how to handle business. He is a genius who makes you look smart.”

The Holy Spirit is God’s head bypass – operation. He bypasses our thinking so we can do all he wants us to do. He doesn’t turn loose until He turns a situation around.

The word ‘Infirmity’ literally means ‘someone who is almost helpless or one who has fallen into a pit and can’t get out. The word ‘Intercession’ means ‘someone who enters the pit with you and pushes you out.’

You can know not Christ appropriately without the help of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit takes everything Jesus has done for us and brings it into personal victory in our lives. No matter how bad it looks the Holy Ghost is there to redeem the situation.

In closing, Rev. Mark read from Philippians 1:19, and then encouraged everyone to make room for the Holy Ghost. Recognise him. Let him lead you into victory. Drink the fullness of the spirit until Jesus is magnified.
