WAFBEC 2018 – Day 7 (Evening Session 1) with Bishop Keith Butler

WAFBEC 2018 – Day 7 (Evening Session 1) with Bishop Keith Butler

THE LIFE OF FATHER ABRAHAM {Gen. 11:12, 8:1-10}

Bishop taught on the Life of Abraham, and how it affects us as Christians. He said, “God’s assignment for us does not change even when things do go the way we planned.

For example, you don’t choose a church on your own account but you have to consult the Holy Spirit to direct you to the Church to go to.

Speaking about Abraham, he said that he also failed to pass his test and so had to go back to retake them.

He advised the congregation to be aware of strife. He said, “Strife is a killer, It opens the door for the enemy. Getting out of where God has called you or getting in strife is extremely dangerous.”

During his teaching, he read from Gen. 14:14-20; 15:1-10, 16:1-5. He said that anytime the word ‘maybe’ is used in the Bible, then there are symptoms of unbelief.

The Bishop taught that God doesn’t work with perfect people but that He shows mercy to the imperfect.

“Strife is a killer, It opens the door for the enemy.”

Reading from Gen. 17, he mentioned that 2018 is a year of Purity and Power, but that believers have to clean up their act. He said, “You can go from being strong in the Lord to a backslidden sinner depending on what you do. You have to do only what God asks you to do.”

He said from Rom. 4:17; 15:13 that in other to have a big miracle, you have to be closer to God. God is only looking for those who wants to get close to Him. For God to do anything in Abraham’s life, He had to use Abram’s mouth.

Abraham had to say only what God said concerning him. Words carry faith, fear and hate. Abraham had to look beyond his circumstances. He kept on saying the exact things with God.

According to Rom. 4:17; 15:13, Abraham went from being weak in faith to being strong in faith in less than a year. It’s not about how long you’ve been in faith but what you do.

“Words carry faith, fear and hate. Abraham kept on saying the exact things with God.”

In Gen. 22:1, the Bible says that God is all knowing. He doesn’t have to see what you will do. You need to watch what you say about what you love. Just because you have something doesn’t mean you should keep it. Get ready to let go of what you love.

In conclusion, Bishop Keith read Gen. 22:16, Gal. 3:29, and encouraged everyone to live as the seed of Abraham.
