WAFBEC 2018 – Day 6  (Afternoon Session 2) with Pastor ‘Poju Oyemade

WAFBEC 2018 – Day 6  (Afternoon Session 2) with Pastor ‘Poju Oyemade

THE BELIEVING MINORITY THAT CHANGES THINGS

Pastor Poju Oyemade started by making a reference to what Pastor Dollar said, about belief. Reading from Romans 11:2-10, he said that because they understood grace, they got into the believing minority. People who the word of God did not profit shouted when they were hearing it.

He told the congregation that he must say the truth that it is not about excitement of the faith, nor the size.

He showed through the scriptures how that Elisha wanted to make practical connection by praying to God to open the eyes of Gehazi. 2 kings 6:15

He also said that Paul had to pray at Ephesus that God should give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus so that the eyes of their understanding might be open.

He said the way to access Faith in this modern day of teaching it, is for Christians to understand that, the minute it is preached, fear has to be eliminated. The attitude of the people should be – “for more, are they that are with us than are with them”. This should be our confession.

Using the example of Elisha who understood how to operate in faith, he emphasised that what should be done next after speaking the word is to go into prayer that God should open our eyes to see what you have heard.

Pastor Poju said, “If you don’t see it, then you cannot be transformed. Confession is not how you convince yourself about the truth. Heart belief comes by seeing the truth, with your own eyes. By the declaration of the truth you have seen you walk in it.’’ He said that open eyes is the principle of walking in dominion.

According to Job 42:5, Job moved from hearing to seeing. He said that once you see, no much effort is needed. When you haven’t seen, you walk with words to change yourself.

“Whatever hasn’t manifested, you heard but haven’t seen.”

Difficulty lies in the fact that you haven’t recognised. You can mentally ascent to a promise and not believe it in your heart. Satan is working overtime to ensure that people are just hearers but not connecting with the fact that they need to see.

Pastor ’Poju then explained that the kingdom of God is not in speech but power. You can be speaking the word but there is no power. He said that when the word is taught, we mentally agree with what we have heard, and that acceptance opens a door of communication between us and the Lord so that there can now be an impartation from the throne of grace.

He explained the difference between mentally accenting the word of God and believing inside of the heart, using Rom. 9:30 and then Rom. 4:20.

He also said quoting from James 2:21, “Believing is not passive.” You cannot call on the name of the Lord if you don’t believe. You can’t believe without hearing. You cannot hear without a preacher. The truth is you can’t see without the preacher. 1 Peter 1:12.

The minister re-emphasized, “The first thing you should ask anybody is not pray for me, but to instruct me. These Instructions are from the word of God, about what Jesus has done for that particular situation.”

The way we do greater works by Jesus is when we see. If faith is produced by grace, it is with ease. Grace makes us believe. Pastor Poju read from Psa. 103, 105:37 and Matt. 4:23, 9:35, 12:15, 14:14

He then concluded by reading from Rom. 10:16. He said that the believing minority are those that go further with God, asking Him to give them the Spirit of wisdom and understanding. He used the example of the woman with the issue of Blood in the Bible.

He admonished everyone to pray for eyes that see, in other to see into the eyes of the spirit and connect the dots. Isa. 34:16.

He advice the whole congregation at the event not to be carried away by excitement of the message. But to go home after each session of the day asking God to should open their eyes to see.
