WAFBEC 2018 – Day 4 (Morning Session 1) with Rev. Mark Hankins

THE BELIEVER’S VOICE OF VICTORY

Rev. Mark began by sharing the following key scriptures

There is something about your voice, when you lift it up to God. It is an exercise of your faith. There is something about the believer’s voice that gives him access to what heaven has for him.

Hebrew 4: 14.

The word profession is the same as confession. It’s important that we hold fast to our confession, and to say the same thing that Christ has done for you.

There are four major areas that your confession is centred around.

What the blood has done for us and in us.

Our identity is centred on who we are in Christ. Our faith is strengthened through our confession of who we are in Christ.

For example, Jesus declared that He is the bread of life, the light of the world, the good shepherd, the resurrection and the life, and He came that we might have life.

Luke 4 :18 Isaiah 61:1. Jesus found His identity in scriptures and He made those confessions. You find your identity in Christ.

Jesus is our great High priest. Jesus is our Advocate in heaven and the Holy Spirit is the Advocate in our heart.

For example, you can declare from Hebrew 7: 25, “He has never lost a case. He is right now making intercession for me.” When we pray we enter into the ministry of Christ ministry.

Part of our confession is Psalm 23: “The Lord is my strength, I do  not lack ability, I do not lack strength, opportunity, money, my father is taking care of me in grand style”.

Hold fast to your confession. Hebrew 4: 14. Our confession centres on who Jesus is and what He has done for us. The pressure is not on your confession but on what God has done for you. Your confession will either give Jesus dominance in your life or will open the door to the devil.

Faith is your grip on God and grace is God’s grip on you. God’s grip on you is greater than your grip on Him.

While you are confessing, get a hold on who you are in Christ. You can’t separate your faith from your confession.

Rom 10: 9-10

Our confession should be centered around Jesus being our Lord. The word, “Jesus is Lord” means He is our Victor; He has triumphed over our challenges. Your victory, salvation and blessing are in your mouth. With your mouth, confession is made unto salvation. Our confession precedes the experience of our salvation.

Your confession will either give Jesus dominance in your life or will open the door to the devil.”

Hebrew 4: 14-15

If you want to stay strong in faith, you confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour as often as possible.

Jesus actually felt the way we feel during trials. He is touched by the feelings of our infirmities and our weaknesses. Jesus overcame every weakness and temptation. Jesus said we should hold fast to our confession of faith in Christ and in His victory, and not our feelings. Your faith may not prevent all mountains, but it will move all mountains.

“Faith is your grip on God and grace is God’s grip on you. God’s grip on you is greater than your grip on Him. “

Hebrew 3: 1

Jesus will take the victim out of your voice and put victory in your voice. He will put a blessing in your voice.  Jesus is the Apostle and High priest of our confession. The more you study Jesus, the bigger He gets. Turn your eyes from your natural situation and meditate on the word. Find scriptures of what God has done for you and meditate on it. The word of God is a living thing that will challenge every emotion and every thought.

Hebrew 10:23

Don’t say something and deviate. Beware of the dangers of dual confessions.  Hebrew 13:15. The Holy Spirit reminds you again of who you are in Christ. As a believer you never enter the ring as a challenger but as a champion.

Your identification in Christ requires an identical confession of your faith. You have to say the same thing God says about you. Through Christ we offer the sacrifice of praise continually.  Jesus is the perfect sacrifice to perfect the imperfect person. Your sacrifice of praise connects you to the blood of Jesus.

“You can’t separate your faith from your confession.”
