WAFBEC 2018 – Day 4 (AFTERNOON SESSION 1) with PASTOR CARLTON WILLIAMS

WAFBEC 2018 – Day 4 (AFTERNOON SESSION 1) with PASTOR CARLTON WILLIAMS

This session began on a rather emotional note as Pastor Carlton went down memory lane, speaking about his long term relationship with Pastor Poju, Convener, WAFBEC 2018.

He then began to explain the importance of meditation as the key to transformation. He shared the following scriptures;

Reading from Col. 2: 1-3, our speaker reminded us, believers, of our change in status when we received Christ. He explained that whilst we were in darkness we were hopeless because corruption came from our being. However, now that we’re in God we have hope (Ephe 2: 1-6; 2: 13).

Pastor Carlton, taught that being seated with Christ isn’t metaphorical. He explained that our experiences as sinners were a result of our condition -‘’Being dead’’. But now as believers we’ve entered a new reality with new experiences.

He made us realize that sometimes we fail to realize that the kingdom of God has it’s own rules and it’s completely different from that of darkness and as God’s children we’ve become citizens of a new kingdom (Colo 1: 12-13, Phil 3:20).

So, the major difference between the Kingdom of darkness and Kingdom of God is that in the former, death reigned over us without our input, but in the latter, we reign in life (Rom 5:17).

However, we reign in life by ‘setting our sights’. (Acts 10:38, Col: 3: 1-2). In ‘setting our sights’, we become beneficiaries of the realities of the kingdom. Our hearts are set on the things of God, and what we receive is determined by what we see. The place of supply is the glory realm and all that Jesus did was for the benefit of the church (Eph 1:3; 22-23, Phil 4:19; 2;5-8, Heb 1:3).

Hence, we understood clearly that we can’t see Christ properly at the right hand of God without seeing ourselves that way. And if we speak based on this revelation, it will become our reality.

Pastor Carlton further said that meditation puts us in a place where we receive revelation and when we build our lives according to the pattern in heaven, heaven will come into earth as seen in the lives of Moses and Noah (Exo 25: 40, 1Chro 28:10).

He wrapped up his sermon by making us realize that God is in search of partners and faith begins when His will is known. He said that in other to fulfill this will we need access to higher wisdom by setting our eyes on the reality of heaven.

Hence, our desire must be the kingdom because we are building for eternity. He admonished we throw off the identity of the kingdom of darkness and wear the identity of the King.
