WAFBEC 2018 – DAY 3 (Morning Session 1) with Rev. Funke Felix-Adejumo

WAFBEC 2018 – DAY 3 (Morning Session 1) with Rev. Funke Felix-Adejumo

THE GOD OF THE HEBREWS

Rev Funke Felix Adejumo, the president of Funke Felix Adejumo Foundation and wife of Pastor Felix Adejumo, President Agape Christian Ministries graced the podium for the first session of the third day of Wafbec.

She took another dimension, describing and expounding on the “God of the Hebrews” who has also become our God (i.e. the God of the gentiles through faith in Jesus Christ).

She took it all the way to ancient Israel and modern Israel comparing both times.  It is incredible to know that from the 195 nations we have in the world today, Israel is the only nation for many centuries that retains its culture, speaks the same language, dwells in the same land and serves the same God.

THE SOVERIGN POWER BEHIND THE SUCCESS OF NATION OF ISREAL

The Jewish ways, laws, and principles never phased out with time because the God they serve is the only one true God who in ancient times was known as the God of the Hebrews.

The modern Israel in the midst of their Arab enemies, controversies, attacks and climatic and environmental disadvantage, has not only survived but also miraculously excelled far above many developed countries in various aspects of their economy.

With all these, it’s no hidden fact that there is a sovereign power backing the nation of Israel. The All-powerful, Incredible God of the Hebrews is in charge of all things.

WHO IS THE GOD OF THE HEBREWS?

Exodus 9:1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

There is no way you come in contact with the God of the Hebrews and your life would remain the same. The God of the Hebrews gives you confidence when facing your enemies.

The God of the Hebrew’s responds to you based on your understanding of who He is. He responds to you based on the name you call him.

In talking about the dawning of a new day, Rev. Funke mentioned some characteristics of this God who is behind bringing the new into your life.

 Romans 9:20

The God of the Hebrews does what he likes and like what he does. He is God all by himself yet He chooses to be God with us. He doesn’t take permission from anyone to fulfill his desires, he is unquestionable about his decision to love you and call you his own. That’s something to be relieved and excited about.

Isaiah 45:9

The God of the Hebrews can overrule everything and anything. He overrules death sentences, doctor’s reports, condemned destinies.

Daniel 4:26; Daniel 11:32

Your background shouldn’t mean your back should be on the ground. He raises the poor from the dust into prosperity.

1samuel 2:7

When the God of the Hebrews can favour you. When He likes you, He likes you. The Lord says “I have found no iniquity in Jacob.” God wasn’t looking for a sinless man when he chose Jacob but a heart with a potential for righteousness.

He defends His people. He is a jealous God, and he never wants to be taken for granted. He is a fighter.  He can fight with any weapon. Sometimes he fights with wind, water, fire, atmosphere. Nothing is without his jurisdiction. He used wind to fight for the people of Israel when He pathed the red sea for them to crossover. When the God of Hebrews is not allowed to rule, He overrules

Exodus 14:1

Don’t give up on the God of the Hebrews, because he cannot lie. Numbers 23:9

Never give up while holding on to God, He will always bring to pass what He says or has promised you. Though it may tarry, wait for it. It won’t fail. He is preparing and positioning you to receive his promise.

“God wasn’t looking for a sinless man when he chose Jacob but a heart with a potential for righteousness.”

People might betray you, but the God of Hebrew would never betray you. He is for you and not against you. The bible in the book of Jeremiah 29:11 says Gods thoughts towards you are thoughts of good and not of evil to bring you to an expected end.

God is the King of creation, the Creator of everything we can ever comprehend or phantom. He is the beginning, the first and the last. This God is creation himself; He creates life and death, light and darkness. He doesn’t faint, sleep or slumber, not to mention death. As a matter of fact death itself is underneath and in submission to him.

God’s word doesn’t change; once he says something nobody can change it, when he speaks who can reverse it? Nobody! So be rest assured that whatever he does or will do for you cannot be undone. Isaiah 43:13

He is the Unchangeable changer. He is at the center of change, yet He is constant. The only constant, person, entity, factor in heavens and the earth.  Hebrews 13:8 says He is the God who he is the same yesterday, today and forever.

The Bible says He will never leave us nor forsake us. Isaiah 49:15 describes the compassion a mother has for the son of her womb which makes it difficult for her to forsake her son, but the God of the Hebrew says if that ever happens, His compassion for us is much deeper and for this reason he will never abandon us.

THE REASON FOR YOUR CONFIDENCE

We know we have no reason to fear, worry or be discouraged because we serve a well capable All powerful God.  A God we can call on in oppression, frustration, sickness, poverty; knowing He would answer and come make His power known both to us and those around us.

The bible says in Eph 3:20, this God is able to do much more than we can ever think or ask. This conviction gives us so much reason to be confident and cheerful.
