WAFBEC 2018 – Day 2 (Morning Session 2) with Rev. Victor Adeyemi

WAFBEC 2018 – Day 2 (Morning Session 2) with Rev. Victor Adeyemi

FAITH IN THE POWER OF GOD

Rev. Adeyemi started by reading Ephesians 3:13-21. He also made reference to Acts 19 and Isaiah 43, where he explained John’s role in the coming of Jesus Christ. He then gave insight into the activities of the Ephesian church. Rev. Adeyemi said they (the Christians at Ephesia) experienced the power of God firsthand, through Apostle Paul.

He said, despite their experience, the Ephesian church began to worry when Paul was not released from jail, adding that most Christians tend to falter when the manifestation of the word of God is delayed.

Rev. Adeyemi also touched on the ‘hatred’ on social media, saying that Nigerians need to live together. According to him, the level of persecution Christians (most especially pastors) go through, in the era of social media, is alarming.

He also encouraged everyone not to be discouraged, and advised Christians to continue preaching the gospel, despite the tribulations. Don’t apologise for being blessed, he said.

Proverbs 24:1

Rev. Adeyemi said that it is wrong to lose heart in the face of opposition. Citing Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1: 16-19, he explained the need to rely on the Holy Ghost for inner strength. The man of God also urged everyone, never to give up when faced with challenges

Speaking on the greatness and glory of God, he described it as a sea of unlimited resources that is available to everyone.

He quoted Isaiah 40:28-31 to further highlight the limitless power of God.

“If I find myself failing in the day of adversity, I can go back to God to receive power to succeed where I failed.

“All I need to do is to wait upon the Lord and draw strength from him,” he said.

He also read from Ephesians 6:10, saying, though God’s power  is  unlimited, Christians can feel weak if they do not tap into it.

John 1:14;16.

Rev. Adeyemi urged everyone not to be weak.

The minister explained that God’s grace is like a propeller, that moves every believer to a higher level.

He said that believers can have access to God’s grace and still not enjoy it.

Explaining the massive nature of God’s power, he highlighted that it was the same power that raised Christ from the dead.

He pointed out that every believer has that same power, and that it is an insult for witches to stop a believer, when they posses the  power of the Holy Ghost.

“The greater the opposition, the greater the greater one.”1 John 4:4

“Since the Romans could not stop Christ from resurrecting, nothing can stop you from making progress”, He said.

He also declared that every dead thing is coming back to life.

Painting a picture of the battered body of Jesus Christ, he said that the healing power of God can heal any wound.

“God wants every believer to be conscious of the power of the Holy Ghost, because we are  ‘proof producers’ that the power of God is active and alive.” he added.

Acts 1:8, Acts 3:1-8

Quoting 1 Corinthians 2:4-5, the minister, showed the audience that God wants us to be conscious of his power.

Rev Adeyemi showed how important it is for  believers to have faith in the anointing of the Holy Ghost in their lives. “God did not give you the Holy Ghost to speak in tongues”, he said, making reference to Mark 16:17.

Narrating the story of his encounter with Evangelist Reinhard Bonke, he said that he sought to know the price he needed to pay to get the anointing to heal the sick, but the evangelist told him that it is all about faith.

Experience can be your greatest enemy. Experience is not always the best teacher, because sometimes it tells you that you cannot. It makes you feel confined, like a circus Elephant.

The devil uses some negative experiences, to try to tame us like the circus animals.

All you need is not more power. You need to increase your faith in the power of God”

The minister also said that most Christians do not insist on their rights during trying times, because they lack faith.

He said, “The power of God is available for you. The moment you choose to operate using the power in the name of Jesus, you bring him into the equation. If our faith will increase, we will never see limits anymore, regardless of the challenges.”

We will also not see forces of darkness and mince meat. God will begin to use us as miracle workers.

Many Christians today, are seeking miracles, which is not right. The Bible says we are miracle workers.”

He concluded by saying that if we develop our faith in the power of God, every need will be met.
