The Dysfunction of Destiny – Pastor keion Henderson Day 5 Morning Session 1

Pastor Keion Henderson

He began by commending Pastor Poju Oyemade for being such an astute individual both in the kingdom and in the secular world before he began to deliver what the Lord has laid on his heart to share with the congregation at WAFBEC 2022. You can tell Pastor Keion Henderson has a special love for The Covenant Nation. Considering his largest followers are from Lagos Nigeria, Pastor Keion said he believes there is something God planted in him that is important for Christians in Lagos. He believes being here is part of his destiny.

Taking his text from Exodus 2:1-10, Pastor Keion admonished the congregation never to abandon destiny because of dysfunction. You must not get frustrated with God simply because you had to be in the waiting room for a while. God’s promises are Yes and Amen, but what do you do when God doesn’t say ‘Yes’ right away but rather says ‘not right now’?

He said that sometimes destiny comes with delay, denial and dysfunction. Destiny is achieved through the dysfunction of your life. The more dysfunctional your life is, the greater your destiny. If you have been tried by fire it must mean God wants to make gold out of you. Gold is refined at a minimum of 2000 degrees heat, very uncomfortable but that is the heat level where its impurities can be separated from the gold. There are some things that are released at every heat level.

A real goldsmith identifies gold when he can see a reflection of himself in the gold. This is exactly what God is trying to do. The fire isn’t punishment, he pointed out. God wants to see himself in us. It was never about pain, it was always about the glory he affirms.

Going by Moses’ experiences being raised as an orphan, he needed Egyptian training to be qualified enough to lead the Israelites and that includes being raised in Pharaoh’s home to learn the customs. The experience enabled him to approach Pharoah better.

We must run our own race, he established. God blesses who we are, not who we pretend to be. Everything in our lives is to ensure we reach our destiny. He encourages the congregation to stop apologising for whom God has created them to be which is to praise him. He encourages the people to accept who they are and seek the lessons in their seasons. There is a blessing in dysfunction, he reiterated as he ended his sermon.
