Faith: The Access to Grace – 23 Days to #WAFBEC2014

Grace is colloquially referred to as “God in the race”. As pedestrian as that sounds, it conveys a deep truth. It is by the grace of God that we are even part of the Christian race to begin with. We are saved by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8). When we enjoy God’s grace, we enjoy maximum patronage and profiting in business, outstanding creativity in our endeavours, good health, have our bills paid in miraculous ways, stand out in all that we do, and have the supernatural become our natural experience. It is thus every believer’s desire to enjoy grace.

Grace has been provided for every Christian even though we have to individually receive it. Our access to God’s grace is faith in Jesus Christ (Rom. 5:2). Just as we believed in our hearts and confessed with our mouths the Lordship of Jesus, in order to partake of the grace of salvation, it’s also by faith we receive God’s grace for our personal endeavours. It’s the same principle of faith by which we have received eternal life that we live out the abundance of that life in our health, finances, business, studies, marriage and every other area.

Trusting in God by meditating on His Word to the point of total conviction that God is able to multiply our seeds is the key to the release of His grace for increase in our lives. Faith in God to the point of absolute reliance on Him and trusting Him without reservation releases God’s help to us for our infirmities, weaknesses and projects. Paul, a great example of God’s grace, lived by absolute faith in God and was able to do much for the gospel despite his past and attendant weaknesses. He functioned by the spiritual energy birthed by revelation of God’s Word, which is grace.

When the Word of God prevails in our hearts and our mind is renewed to the point of total trust in God, we become able to do all that God has called us to do, not by our own effort but by His strength in us. Hebrews 4:16 tells us to come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need. We do this by yielding to intimacy with God’s Word and praying in faith.
