Day 6 Afternoon Pastor Yemi Davids – The Sound of Blessing

Pastor Yemi Davids started his message by establishing the importance of wisdom in the life of any believer. He stated that wisdom is knowing what to do before the event, while regret is knowing what to do after the event. Sometimes people confuse the two. We must crave God’s wisdom everyday so as to know how to live, thereby having access to the blessing. Prov. 3:14-17

Pastor Davids pressed that history is shaped by the Blessing, therefore there is the need to learn to place a high premium on the flow of the blessing through our conduct. Thus our behaviour matters in the flow of the blessing. Referencing Gen 9:20-27 and 1 Kings 12:6-16, he said the blessing influences the way we make decisions. The blessing is superior to gifting and talents.

The enemy understands that we are already blessed as seeds of Abraham, that is why the enemy comes with what we can call blessing blockers. If these blessing blockers are not dealt with on time, a Christian can find that he or she is though biblically blessed and still lives as though under the curse.

Reading from Gen 8:20-21, he pointed out that the blessing shapes history.

He went further to highlight blessing catalysts

  1. Your words

Our words are one of the most important things on earth. Sometimes the way people speak in church is usually not the way they speak at home. This should not be so. Proverbs 18:2 The tongue is more powerful than satan. Death and life are in the power of the tongue.

A believer must learn to confess always that when men say there is a casting down, for the believer, they shall declare that there is a lifting up.

You cannot speak evil of any part of your body and expect to live in health. In the same way, you don’t flourish in the nation you slander.

  1. Honour

There is a reason the Bible says honour all men. No matter who the person is, let honour be your watchword. 1 Tim 5:1, Ephesians 6:2

Honour is a Great blessing provoker. Honour will take one further than intelligence. No matter how gifted someone is, it is the Blessing that changes one’s lives and generations for good forever. There are many people here who will after this meeting need to call someone and make amends to honour them, that way, the blessing will be opened up to them. Gen. 4:3- 4

Importantly, honour begins with God. Honour God with your body, your body is His temple .

Honour the lord with your time. Honour him with your resources. Prov. 3:9 When we honour God with everything, the blessing begins to multiply. Proverbs 17:13

The way forward?

We must mind our behaviour. Today affects tomorrow. Things done today in secret affects our lives openly tomorrow. Also, if God has given you any instruction, take it seriously. Jonah 3:2

Your last act of disobedience stops the blessing. Retracing your steps with God’s mercies makes the blessing continue.

  1. Unforgiveness.

Another blessing blocker is unforgiveness. This is a major blessing blocker.

If you have made mistakes, as the Holy Spirit begins to reveal those things to you, ask for mercy and begin to make amends. Satan hates mercy, and repentance and making amends brings mercy. Prov 28:13 Making amends is very important, the prodigal son wouldn’t have had his story this good today if he had stopped at repenting but not going ahead to make amends.

If you value shaping history, mind your words, live in honour and forgiveness.
