Day 5: Session 1 – Rev Scott Webb

Pastor Scott continued his teaching on sowing, reaping and how this affects the believer and what it means in our faith walk.

Matthew 6:25 – 31, Mark 11:12-14, 21-23.

Thoughts, doubts and questions come to everyone but you let them dissipate by NOT saying them. Rather, reinforce what you believe by speaking the Word. God’s Word and will is coming to pass in your life.

You cannot worry yourself into any kind of growth – physical, spiritual or otherwise.
It takes only a little faith to have all your needs met. Jesus said you are more important than flowers and grass, all you need is a little faith properly applied to have the needs of life like clothing and feeding all taken care of.

There is no correlation between the size of the seed and that which it produces.
EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS SEED TIME AND HARVEST.
EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS SOWING AND REAPING.
The Sower sows the seed. The seed and the Word are the same thing.

In the incident with the fig tree that Jesus cursed, the fig tree always bears fruit before it bears leaves. So, if it already had leaves that means it should have fruit on it especially since the time for harvesting figs had not yet come because of the Jewish holiday. Harvesting would take place afterwards. Therefore the tree should have had figs on it.

Jesus spoke to the fig tree, from afar off and yet his disciples heard him. He spoke loud enough to the fig tree so that the tree would hear him.

And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away”. It withered from the roots. It shows that the Word of God works from the roots of any situation.

Note that faith comes out of your heart, your head doesn’t have to agree with it.

Romans 1:16-17, II Timothy 1:6-12, Psalms 91:1, 2

The gospel is the power of God. Whatever the Word of God associates with takes on a life of itself.
The gospel becomes the power of God when you believe it. Men have to embrace it individually for the power to become reality in their life. The gospel that you are not ASHAMED of is what you really believe. It’s what becomes the power of God in your life.

You must take possession of the promises of God for them to become reality.

II Corinthians 9:8, Mark 4:31, 32

The mustard seed is one of the smallest yet produces one of the biggest plants. There is no correlation between the size of the seed and size of the plant. If you want financial increase, you’ve got to say it. You’ve also got to sow because what you sow is what you reap.

You must NEVER be ashamed of your seed. The Lord measures your seed by the size of your heart and not the seed itself. Case in point- the widow’s mite… Jesus observed her and said she gave all she had.

Every opportunity you have, you should sow. Then you’ll increase and be able to give more and more. But keep your faith in God and not in your seed. He’s the one that gives the increase.
