Day 3: Session 7- Bishop Wale Oke

In introduction, the Bishop gave an exhortation on the importance of receiving a word from God. He said, “All you need is just one word from God to change your life. Whatever challenge or situation you are in, you only need a word from God to change it.” He made reference to how God sent his word to Joseph in the prison and brought him out to sit on the throne; breaking through the barriers of impossibilities that surrounded him.

Quoting from Psalm 105:17-22, Bishop Wale expounded on the three major obstacles that the Word of God broke through to bring Joseph to the throne. He highlighted it thus:

Firstly, Joseph being a Jew was automatically a second class citizen and therefore not qualified to be a ruler. Secondly, he was also a slave i.e. a piece of property/commodity that belonged to someone. Finally, Joseph was a prisoner with no right to vote or to be voted for. In the light of these, Bishop Wale Oke began to make prophetic declarations on promotions, breakthrough, healing and open doors.

Hebrew 12:2:22-23,

Bishop explained that the Church of the first born is a church with dominion and authority on the earth that is taking back everything the enemy has stolen. He said, “This church represents God with dignity, power and authority and above that, our names are written in heaven.” He stated the fact that these things were procured and secured for us at the cross.

He also mentioned that what Jesus Christ purchased for us was a complete redemption that covers every aspect of our lives. The Bishop proved from the book of Psalm 103:1-5 that redemption is not just a spiritual reality, but it is something that covers every facet of human life. He encouraged us to focus on the Word of God and shun motivational messages, saying, “motivational messages can fill your mind but can neither touch nor cleanse you from sin”.

Genesis 48:18-19,, 3:19, Deuteronomy 21:15, Matthew 1:25, luke 2:17, Colossians 1:17-18, Romans 8:29, Galatians 3:19, Revelation 1:5-6

The Bishop reiterated the fact that it is only when we believe, understand and begin to appropriate what Jesus procured for us on the cross that those things come into manifestation. Finally, Bishop Wale explained that there is a plague of the firstborn; the struggles that follow the life of the first born. He called it, “the plague of near success syndrome that always prevented the firstborn from getting the inheritance that was his right from birth”. He showed us from the scriptures that every firstborn is supposed to have a double portion i.e. stand in the position of the priest and king for their respective family. He said, “Jesus Christ came to the earth by divine arrangement, associated with all the struggles of the firstborn and by His death and resurrection fully restored the right of the firstborn to us.”
